Ben is an alchemist of many mediums. A mountain man, a lover of ceremony and communion with nature. Ben is a servant to the plants and a Mesa carrier of the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition lineage of cross cultural shamanism. He is also a certified Emotion Code practitioner. His passion for ancient civilizations and study of their Earth honouring wisdom ways has mutually enriched his devotion to the way of Love & Truth, to the evolution of consciousness and the restoration of planetary balance. His purpose is to help empower others to become their own healers and actualize their greatest potential through the re-membrance of their inherent divinity and eternal nature. Although that wasn’t necessarily my approach at the time, it instilled the inner knowing, or more accurately, a re-membrance, that it was/is possible.When people come together with shared intention to celebrate life, each other and themselves, through their mutual love of music/dance, this can be achieved/accessed. Music and dance are universal languages that dissolve the boundaries between cultures, language & any other differences we might have. Our bodies don’t lie and speak louder than any words.Through these mediums we can be brought into the perfection of the eternal present moment, which is all that exists.”

Earth Ceremony

Benjamin Joel and Sami Jane of Samyoga will be opening the festival container Thursday afternoon through an intentional Earth Honouring Ceremony. They will be calling in the directions and offering up prayers to honour all benevolent energetics, ancestors of the land and support – both seen and unseen. Central to this is of course, our Mother, Pachamama-Gaia. This will be an intuitively led ritual, gently guided by the subtle group/collective energy. We will offer chanting, invocation and sound healing elements to weave the container and lay the vibrational foundation for the greatest depth of communion with nature, the land, with spirit, with ourselves and with each other.

The Earth Honouring Ceremony will also include a co-creative group ritual called a Despacho.

A despacho is an ancient indigenous Peruvian practice in “ayni” which is a Quechua word meaning “sacred reciprocity”, to be in balance, in giving back what we take from the earth. In a despacho ceremony we co-create a beautiful Earth mandala reverently infused with our love, intentions, prayers and gratitude, creating an offering to the earth for all the blessings in our lives. This is done by placing intentional items on a large piece of white paper that then gets gently folded up like a gift.

Facilitators will be supplying the items for offering AND we invite you to bring any sacred items you’d like to contribute (these won’t be returned to you, they are offered to the Earth). This practice helps to establish an equilibrium – one which manifests as greater beauty and well-being in our lives and in turn collectively.

This is from where your Code of Honour will emerge, your guiding Ethos.

In this men’s specific container Benjamin will be guiding participants in a process through a series of meditative & contemplative practices to help them get in touch with their core essence, to help identify what it is that fuels them and why.

From this Sacred place of Re-membrance and deep communion with Self, we will begin formulating our individual Codes of Honour, our personal LightHouse for persevering through life’s challenges.

If possible, bring a journal and yoga mat.
